Pepe Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I am fooling around with some hair jigs and would welcome your thoughts on several things. 1) what size/weight jig ? 2) Does the silicone front skirt add to or interfere with effectiveness of jig? Thanks
mic Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I'm not a jig guy to much, that looks real good.
MOsmallies Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 1/8 oz or 3/16 oz... Green Pumpkin, Brown, and Black... on a football head.....Killer for winter river smallies! The silicone is a cool idea, but I know a lot of guys just want the hair for cold water.
mjk86 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 1/8th, 1/4, and 3/8th would by my faves.....absolutely LOVE that color, Looks like a real killer. Personally, id say lose the rubber skirt....that jig will work well without it!
J-Doc Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 It's a bit bulky. I've had the best luck with jigs in general using hair jigs. But the hair is trimmed and much shorter. 3/8oz range is my favorite. But a 1/4oz would be good too for a slower fall. I've been using your jigs you sent me. They honestly look better than store bought and I really like them a lot. However, I seem to be on a big slump with jigs. Can't get a bite. Not your fault. It's the angler, not the jigs. Members gatorbitu Posted September 21, 2014 Members Posted September 21, 2014 That looks great! Doesn't need the rubber.
