Rapala's on Taney

It has been a ton of years since I used an ultralight spinning rod for trout. But my up and coming fisherman, Skyler the 7 year old grandson, loves using his. (He is just now beginning to be interested in the long rod). I need to get him some productive rapalas for Taney and other lures that would be productive with 4 to 6 lb line. Can you guys give me a list of sizes, colors, of what you would use, either topwater, subsurface etc. And what is legal below the dam. Thanks.

also dont forget about the Yo-zuri pin minnows... Those are GREAT.. cost some though..about $7 per lure

6 lb line.

Throw F or CD (I prefer F)

F-7 is perfect.

Gold, silver, rainbow

Start and stop- hard irratic action and stop alot.

Rogues are very good too, esp the suspending types. They really smack them when you stop.

Don't forget about the jigs! I've caught a ton of fish on the White River System (& the Spring River) on 1/16 oz olive, black, & brown jigs. I guess you could use 6 lbs line, but 4 is better. I really like the "Zig Jig" made in NW Arkansas. I would think that they would be very easy for the young angler to use.

Thanks everybody, I can get him equipped now. But tell me this. Is it legal to have multi hooks in the Trophy areas? I presume it is? I know multi fly rigs are ok, but I was unsure about treble's etc.
