Water Temp: 74-76

Water Visibility: 4 ft

Location: Mid Lake

Lures: Flicker Shad and Jigging Spoon

Total Fish: 5-Walleye (3 legal to 20"), 5-White Bass (1.5 lbs), and 1 small channel cat.

Water Depth: 28-30 FOW

Fished from 7 am to Noon. Caught all white bass from 7-9 am. Started catching walleye at 9 and caught the last one by 11 am. No fish after 11 am. I trolled a few miles, but all hook-ups came from a relatively small area, maybe 50 yards long. Shad were all over the area. The fish were suspended in 30 FOW over structure on the edge of a large flat. All but 2 of the fish came on a Flicker Shad.

Representative photos of each species included:

Something is interesting with the walleye, they apparently have to have sun to bite!!!!! I went out today after Yak keyed me in on the area and caught 15 catfish nice ones 3 to 18lbs but couldn't buy a walleye bite so I decided to troll a little further than where the walleye were suppose to be and caught some whites and a couple nice Drum. The sun finally peeked its head out and I went to where Yak told me and sure enough the walleye bit 7 with 2 keepers all on the shad and as Yak said related to a key piece of structure.

He wasn't kidding when he said one piece I dropped the camera and saw at least 10 to 12 and probably even more on it. All nice healthy ones as he showed in his pictures, between them and the cats and drum I have a few fillets and the first to be cooked will be the Drum.

Thank Brian dead on tip and dear on spot, ill call you in a bit and tell you what that structure actually is.

Good report. I've zeroed my last trip (Ouchita River) and almost zeroed last two trips on Beaver. Nothing worth keeping. I'm finding fish, just not active feeders. I seem to be tuning it wrong and trying for early morning bite when its an afternoon bite.

Going out again in the morning with F&F so he can heckle me from my own boat. I'll bet a new Flicker Shad we land a darn catfish.

Only one day off left before I start my new job so I need to make the best of it. Having a week off to fish and spend time with family has been nice!

Yep

Just don't catch the first catfish or bring the fish clicker. If necessary, coat his lures in stinkbait.

The clicker was only for those days where you're catching more than 20 because I lose count really fast. He's the one that took too much enjoyment of pushing the button on the clicker.

I agree. Stinkbait on his line.
