WeekendWarrior Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Why doesn't a person just use a spinning rig instead of a bait caster to shoot docks? You wouldn't have to worry about backlash and for the most part most folks around here already do it when their crappie fishing. I don't know, I haven't bass fished in 15 years but I think I'm gonna get back into it next year. They got this little thing called the Big Bass Bash that sounds pretty fun:) Just my two cents. You could do that but your chances of getting a keeper fish out of those places are slim
Members BHowe Posted October 3, 2014 Members Posted October 3, 2014 All right, now I know. I'm gonna have to look up some youtube videos and see what the differences are. Thanks for the info fellers.
5bites Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Any more most of my skipping is done with a roll cast. Not quite as precise but good distance.
97procraft Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 It definitely takes quality baitcasting gear and a lot of practice.... A LOT!!! That's awesome... Did you fish this years tournament as well? If so how'd you end up doing? MOsmallie, no I didn't fish that tournament this year. I don't plan on fishing the Pro/Am formats any more. To me, is just more fun fishing with a friend. I would suggest that if you don't have a boat and still want to fish tournaments that the Pro/Am format is a great way to learn lakes and meet some great people.
