stlfisher Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Being primarily a Red Sox fan (I also can pull for Royals and Cards especially with the Sox out of the playoffs this year), I appreciated the effort and competitiveness he showed this year. I was down on the guy at first as the Sox as signed him to a big contract and he either did not pitch well or was hurt. But this year he put it together. He's not a dominant pitcher, but a good #3 that will work hard and give his team a chance to win. Yep, he will keep you in the game and he is one competitive guy. He pitched great last night. I hope Allen Craig does well for the Red Sox. When healthy he was incredible in the clutch. Just hope he is healthy...not sure he was this year.
stlfisher Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Another nail better tonight and Cards got the big hit to win it! Mattingly probably should have pulled kershaw. 100 pitches on 3 days rest is still very impressive.
gramps50 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Watched it for awhile then went fishing, should have stayed home and finished watching the game. No bites and lost a buzzbait. Glad the Cards won tonight and we didn't have to back to LA. Who do we play next we know yet? Go Cards!

If they win its another west coast team we will have to stay up late and watch get beat. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Wow, Cards did it - hopefully they can go on and eliminate the last of the California teams and make it to the Series. I understand Mattingly's reasoning for leaving Kershaw in the game, but it did surprise me a bit he did not pinch hit for him in the top of the 7th. When Adams did that bat flip, I thought he had really crushed it, but it did not make it over the fence by much.
stlfisher Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 During the postgame Adams admitted he had a moment of panic when he saw it flatten out. Good thing it didn't cause he would have looked pretty silly.
Quillback Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Yeah that would have been funny if it had stayed in.

Quillback Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Never have liked the Giants, especially when Bonds played there. Go Cards!
