XP 590 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 A buddy was down a few Tuesdays ago and said there were some pretty serious divers in the spring. They were going deep, beyond the narrow chute into the big cave to do some mapping. They told him it could only be done during low flow, at normal flow they couldn't get through the opening. He couldn't remember what group they were part of. Anybody have any info on that dive? I did see a blog post from Troutnut 69...aka High Plains Flyfisher a few years ago with some awesome photos in the spring. Just curious if anyone had info on this current dive.
NoLuck Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I wasn't aware that they allowed diving during regular trout season. Unless of course they were working with the DNR. I've watched quite a few people diving it during winter C&R. YouTube has a few videos of it.
brittsnbirds Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 there was something on Charlies facebook page about it. they got a special permit and spent 4 hours down. 3 of which were just to de-compress on the way back. they went further in than anyone else. they are professional underwater cave dudes (also nuts).
XP 590 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks, I found the article. http://www.news-leader.com/story/sports/outdoors/2014/10/09/going-deep-divers-discover-unseen-world-bennett-spring/16938583/
stlfisher Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Yes, that is very cool. I wonder far they will get in the future.
ness Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Man, that's nuts. I've never seen divers with multiple additional tanks attached. And, a car battery? John
