Crippled Caddis Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Please add my vote for the 'Miller/Smith Resolution'! And 'Truth in Sentencing' as well!;o( "You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in their struggle for independence." ---Charles Austin Beard
Members troutgal Posted January 12, 2007 Members Posted January 12, 2007 Thank God, they have found him safe in Kirkwood, MO.
jjtroutbum Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 FOUND ALive BEN OWNBE with SHAWN HORNBECK Jon Joy ___________ "A jerk at one end of the line is enough." unknown author The Second Amendment was written for hunting tyrants not ducks. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759

BOTH BOYS ARE ALIVE!! Not much else known at this time. GEE! I guess all three of use were typing at the same time. This is hard to believe. GOD IS GOOD!!!!! "God gave fishermen expectancy, so they would never tire of throwing out a line"
Crippled Caddis Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Thank goodness! Let us hope that justice prevails! retroaction man Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 THAT is great news i can not even imagine what those kids have been through
ollie Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I just read about it a few minutes ago. Thank the Lord on this one for sure. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
brittsnbirds Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 mcp633- I noticed that our Kirkwood boys did it! That just goes to show how good Police work and quick thinking will prevail over the bad guys. Once in a while WE win!! Now the biggest problem is the process. There shouldn't be any at all! Take the no good SOB out and let the family's have their way with him then burn him! I'm sorry for those of you who don't believe in my thoughts but I've been a cop 20 years plus and have seen some bad stuff. When it comes to kids, well all the rules go out the window!
Thom Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 The so called experts say that the death penalty is no deterent. I am just a down home boy from a small town in southern Illinois but with my limited knowledge of statistics here are the facts: Many of the criminals that have commited fleonious homicide have been released on parole and commmited another felony . No murderer has ever been executed and commited another felony or murder! I think that makes that 100 % effective. Thom Harvengt

Not only do I agree with you but I think your proposal is emminently just! It is modelled on the Biblical principle of "An eye for an eye" and I still think that the very model of justice. And I agree 100% with Thoms' statistics also. No executed felon has ever repeated. If that isn't effective I simply can't imagine what would be! I will however grant the members of this board mercy by not getting started on my opinions of out courts.
