Mauk had a hangnail on his throwing hand, the o-line all played with a turkey hangover, and Sasser had a zit. By golly... we still won the game!

Our rivalry with the Jayhawks may be on hold for now, but based on comments by you Hog fans here, we just might actually have a new rivalry brewing with arKANSAS. :secret-laugh:

We'll get you next year in Fayetteville!

Na no rivalry with Arkansas, Mo is an Eastern School, So not like they can really do much to affect Western Standings, by the time we play we will either have a bowl game or know if we are going to the championship game. This forced attempt at a rivalry is stupid to say the least. The final game for a school in the regular season should be against a school in the same division. Bama v Au, Miss st v Ole Miss, Arkansas v LSU etc. Many I have spoke to think this is stupid and are very upset about losing the LSU v AR Friday after thanksgiving.

There better not be 2 Big 12 teams in the final 4 considering they don't have to play a conference championship game.

They already play each other during the season. How would you have a championship game? The only two that might make sense would be Baylor and TCU because their game was so close, but I'm opposed to teams having a rematch, or even the chance at one.

I still believe that 'Bama hasn't looked all that good when compared to some other teams. They are guilty of many of the same problems that some of the other teams are criticized for.

I can guarantee that when the dust settles at the end the new format will suck worse than the old one. They should have gone with the computers strength of schedule format. It wasn't perfect, but it did eliminate the imperfection of created by believing that humans have the time and resources to evaluate every team that might qualify. The biggest joke when it came to polls was the coaches poll, now we have the next best thing, athletic directors.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

But the last thing the SEC would want to do would be favoring Missouri. A Georgia/Alabama title game would have brought in much higher ratings and higher prestige than Mizzou/Alabama. That iffy call was just an example of a call you sometimes get when you're at home, and it probably goes the other way if we're in Fayetteville.

You're right about that. And Chief, as I said I'm more prone to gripe about perceived poor officiating before the game than after. It was our game to win and we choked, as I said previously. I don't blame officiating for the loss.

My point was worrying about officiating in Atlanta. I could see Mizzou on the wrong end of a bunch of that, and that would suck. There are certain crews that I just cringe when I hear they're calling our games.

Can't wait for the championship game, and go Tigers.

Whats wrong with a rematch? All the other teams in the final 4 discussion have to play a 13th game against a top 20 opponent. Big 12 teams used to play rematches in the Big12 champ game all the time and nobody complained about it. 2007 Mizzou played OU in a rematch and got beat again and knocked out of the natl championship picture (then whipped ARK by 30 in the Cotton Bowl WOOOO........) so if I'm on this committee I hold it against the Big 12 teams and maybe not even let one of them in. If Mizzou beats Bama or AZ beats Oregon, it will at least be a discussion if one of those teams is not more deserving than a team that finished its season playing Iowa St.

Yeah KC that is just stupid. Arkansas is a SEC powerhouse. They even won a national championship 50 years ago (30years before jumping to the SEC) by smoking Nebraska by a field goal!

Mizzou has no bussiness even being in the SEC. (funny nobody says that about Texas A&M that I have heard)(but that could be because they haven't been a threat to the status quo yet)

So lets take a quick scan at the over all records of the dominate Arkansas team that will always be going to a bowl or championship game and the looser Tigers that don't really beat any team on their own.

AR

All time record

688–469–40 (.591)

Bowl Record

13–23–3 (.372)

Confrence Titles

13

Division Titles

0 (I didn't find any)

Mizzou

642–534–53 (.544)

Bowl Record

14–16 (.467)

Confrence titles

15

Division Titles

5 (3 Big 12 North and 2 SEC East)

From what I could find, Mizzou has a 4-2 (.667)record playing Arkansas and a 2-2 (.500) against Bama.

And the Tigers haven't hired any big named or ex-NFL coaches.

In looking at reported Arkansas rivalries, three of them, this is how they stand.

LSU 21-36-2 for a 35.6% win percentage

Texas 21-56 for a 21.6% "

Texas A&M 41-27 for a 57.7% "

I'd say the Tigers are severly out classed.

Chief, it doesn't matter how much Missouri wins....no one will ever give this program any respect. Based on interractions with them, fans of teams like Tennessee or A&M will tell you with a straight face that they were better than us this year, we just got lucky with the right schedule or with injuries or whatever lame excuse they can come up with. Mark my words: on the off chance we beat Alabama Saturday, it will only be because of some injury or lucky break or a bad call. No one will say it has anything to do with Missouri. It's all on us when we lose, but it's just some cosmic prank when we "scrap out a win" or whatever everyone calls it.

Most teams get respect by winning. Missouri doesn't. When we win a division, it's because the division sucks. We're 10-2, and all you ever hear about is those two losses, never the ten wins. It gets tiring, but I'm well used to it by now. It was exactly the same way last year.

Wasn't singling you out. Its in all forms of media, not just here.

I did hear Leo Holtz say a few days ago, "Its time Missouri got some respect."

And yeah its funny all I heard is that Mizzou hasn't beat a team with a winning record this year. Well, first that if false. You only have to go back as far as last Friday. Arkansas came into Columbia with a winning record. They didn't leave with one though.

And so lets look at those two loosers, The Gators and the Gamecocks. So those two teams beat the Dawgs but you don't hear about them being sub 500 teams. Its only when we beat them, which was before Georgia lost to them that they became loosers.

Yeah just keep calling the Tigers loosers and keep looking down your nose at them. But don't get your panties and bras in a wad when I throw it back in your face.

I'm as big of a Mizzou fan as there is, but I think they need that one BIG win and to make it to a major bowl game before anyone is going to consider them as one of the country's best programs. Beating the Kentucky's and Tennessee's and Vandy"s is great, but this game against Bama could change everything for Mizzou. Most likely they make a major bowl, prob not the final 4, but something like the Orange bowl is a real possibility. MU has made it to this spot a few times in recent years and not been able to make it over the hump, it's time they do that if they want the respect we fans think they deserve.
