Nice post, Fins. I've known this for a while, but I need to upgrade the electronics on my kayak. My setup is over 10 years old. Effective enough to catch plenty of fish, but I've dropped many a jigging spoon into bushes/trees in the past thinking they were schools of fish or bait.

Did snagging trees and losing spoons not give it away? :-) I know I've lost a few and figured out "Oh, that was a brush pile". That was before I upgraded though.
