mizzouflyfisher
If you really want to go on opening day, go to Montauk. There is more water to spread out. If it gets too bad, you can head down below the park and fish the trophy area. I skipped class to go last year because the weather was just too good to pass up. I expected it to be pretty bad, but I was quite relieved. Plus, I ended up catching around 70 trout. Better than being in class anyway. drew03cmc
I guess on opening day, I could fish the Niangua for trout if the park irritates me too bad...something to think about Andy
jjtroutbum
Going on sixteen years that I havent missed an opening day at Bennett all the above info is pretty good alot of times I just extend my stay and fish the up commin weekend with my brother and father as is our tradition. Even tho I the last couple of years they have seemed less dedicated to tradition than I have. The good thing about doing this is it seems that opening day traditionalists go home and leave myself and the few others that actually stay a relatively empty park till the weekend...
