Bill Babler Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 For all of you that don't look at the Taneycomo or any trout forums and I have posted this a couple of weeks ago, I want to reiterate that in the last 25 yrs. of fishing Taneycomo, I have seldom seen the type of fishing we are having right now. Mind you this is not shad coming thru the dam, this is everyday fishing. Fishing the non-restricted zone below Fall Creek using Trout Magnets a 4 hr. trip is netting between 50 and 70 fish with most of these trout being just outstanding in the 12 to 16 inch range. The lake must be on an all time oxygen high cause when you hook these guys they just "Sky Rocket." Lake temps are about 50 degree and they have been running 2 to 3 gentle units making the drift and the flow perfect. If you are in the crappie or no bass blues, best get over there and get your fish catchin on. Lilleys' has all the gear and can get you started and set up. There is really no hazards now in the non-restricted zone on power generation, so get over there and catch them, they are biting and just a complete blast to catch. Restricted zone is also very, very good. Drifting a miracle fly, which is no more than an egg pattern on a very small jig head is outstanding. It does even on generation take some local knowledge up there but the fishing is just crazy. We had our best trout there catch and release today up to 18". Good Luck and give her a spin to catch some truly very nice fish right now. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Nice of you to share all of this good info. If time allows, Donna and I may venture up there and try our hand at catching "slicks." Just one question ... think they'll bite a Fin? I bet one of those big browns would.
Bill Babler Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Tell me when your commin over James, I'll buy a lottery ticket. You Ole Stink Weed. The way you all been catchin the bass you better run that deal till she dries up. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
