drew03cmc Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 How much backing can you fit on a 1494 with a standard 90' WF5F line? Andy
fishinwrench Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 That's gonna depend.... Best bet is to (loosly) tie the flyline tip to the spool, wind it on, then attach the backing to the rear-end of the flyline. Wind'er up til it is where you want it, then peel it all off on the livingroom floor (or transfer to another spool) .... then put it all back on the "right way".
Danoinark Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Drew Here is a chart from Pflueger. Just scroll down for the 1494. It appears it will take 30 yards of 20 lb dacron for a 90 ft 5 wt double taper line (probably the same with a weight forward line) Fishinwrench also is right. drew03cmc Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Well, with 12# dacron backing, considerably more right? Andy
