fishinwrench Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 I'm not that hip to vintage Orvis rods and their unique rating system, it does have a (6) on it....but to me it feels like a 4, maybe even a 3. I believe these rods were designed to have a cane rod action. The rod isn't mine, I am selling for a customer that isn't computer savvy. It is a sweet feeling setup but I don't need another small stream rod.
dave potts Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Wrench, I think the "6" refers to the amount of flex in the rod, not the rod weight. Orvis has some illustrations on their web site showing how the number correlates to the amount of flex (bend) in the rod. Dave
fishinwrench Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Thanks Dave. I figured it was something along those lines, because the rod is obviously not what you'd expect of a 6wt. Very light and parabolic. It is also Sold BTW.
