They were eatin' today boys...over 23 pounds won the tournament out of prairie creek. 2nd was over 17 with 4 fish!!!

My experience has shown that in most of the tournaments on this lake, only 3-5 teams catch a sack over 10-12lbs. The difference in weight between the top 3 bags and the rest of the field usually varies from the field catching between 6-10lbs and then jumps to top 2 or 3 teams weighing in 14-18lbs or on good days, 17-20lbs.

Two anglers catching 20lbs is great. But unless 10 out of 30 boats caught 15-20lbs, I wouldn't say they were "eatin' today". I'd say the status quo was met and someone really skilled got very lucky again. Because most of the field doesn't do as well.

Granted I don't tournament fish on Beaver but I pay attention to the weights and I hear reports all the time. The times that I have fished tournaments, this seems the standard scenario. A few teams sack em' up good.........the rest of the field, not so much.

ME? I'm just happy to weigh in a few fish! LOL! :secret-laugh:
