jbooth24 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I was wanting to know if anyone has ever caught any crappie out of springfield lake or the James river up by the boat ramp. I have herd stories of people catching them but never seen anyone pull them out of there. Does anyone have any insight on we're to even start fishing for them at there?
fishbait3 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 yes u can pull crappie out of there by the cemetery
Mofloatjunkie Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Jbooth... When I was a kid my dad would take us out on the flat bottom and we would catch crappie on minnows drifting on the flats above the dam and in brush piles near where they suck the water in for the power plant. In my opinion that lake is so incredibly overfished that it's hard to find them these days. I've seen people keep fish that are illegal and I've seen people trucking way more that their limit of fish out of there. Seems that security down there is more worried about telling people not to stand in the water than they are protecting the lake. So long story short if you wanna catch some crappie I got a couple spots at crighton and a couple spots on the river between shelvin rock and hootentown. pm me and we will talk.
Aggressor1988long Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yeah my cousin told me he said dead bass people caught and didnt even bother to fillet, put them back let the young generation have fun too.
