Members line wetter Posted January 20, 2015 Members Posted January 20, 2015 Went up to Stockton today. The lake was like glass most all day. Just a beautiful day to be there. I think this retirement stuff is going to be real nice. Get to pick and go on the best days to be out. Kept 7 slab crappie. Caught in 35 feet of water, brush piles in Cedar Ridge area. Tried deeper for Walleye and lo and behold caught three with two being keepers. They were in 45 feet of water. Had enough fillets for me and momma supper and took some to my son for their supper tomorrow night. the grand kids do like the crappie fillets. Crappie and Walleye caught on chartreuse jigs. Good luck if you get to get out.

powerdive Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Now I know the secret to dodging the wind! Wish I could retire... Was out both Saturday and Sunday, and the wind really made things tough for deep water jigging in small, underpowered boats. Had just a couple keeper crappies on Saturday, and 8 plus an eye on Sunday (with another 5 or so lost fish, gotta revamp my hooks). 34-52 feet.
packersooner Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 After a tough Saturday (see PD's post above), managed a limit of crappie on Monday fishing up north (launched out of RB). No walleye. Caught a few crappie fishing shad balls, but most came near deep brush piles (30-45 feet). All were caught on plastic jigs. One would think that the "shad ball" bite will only get better over the coming weeks. Jason
