bfishn Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Welcome! Any relation to Notropis zonatus? If so, you should be readily accepted by the local walleye, they love 'em. I can't dance like I used to.
bs1827 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Excited to have your professional input! Welcome to the boards!
Notropis Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Ha Ha, I thought it was funny when I was assigned the "bleeding shiner" handle especially since I had used the minnow genus, Notropis as my sign-in name. You must have some knowledge of fish classification to catch that! I used the image of a bleeding shiner to fit my handle. Cheers!
bfishn Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Just enough to impress the ladies... I seem to remember writing a couple lines to a drinking song once referring to notropis boops, needing a rhyme for 'jumps thru hoops'. I can't dance like I used to.
rps Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 You (plural) made me look notropis up. Good one. I live at the upper end of TR -> Holiday Island. When you are ready, I will meet you at Houseman ramp and share a few techniques that work between there and Holiday Island.
Notropis Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 You must hang out with a better class of ladies than I, bfishn. Never was able to impress too many women with my knowledge of fish taxonomy but I did meet a women who thought a paddlefish sounded kind of kinky. Thanks for the invite, rps, I might take you up on that offer when I get caught up with my current projects.
