Sac River Jim Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 thnx Brandon i figured they were big gizzard shad i knew they had to be big because my sonar wouldnt penetrate them.
Members Brandon Knight Posted January 29, 2015 Members Posted January 29, 2015 Haha no problem. Pretty sure I saw some crappie on the sonar up in Price Branch that day but not for sure if they were or not.
ten_scoach Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Slab buster out of lake ozark makes a nice electric chicken. Wonderful color combo if you need to be seen!!! Pink and chartreuse both colors that crappie like, so put em together!!
Lifes2Short Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Sac River Jim, yep that was us in Powerline, we went right around you while you caught that bass. We didn't catch anymore fish after we left you to your crappie.
Sac River Jim Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 yep we didnt either 2short thats why we headed back to Hartley and tried for some crappie. Brandon for what its worth a good friend that lives at Cedar Ridge has been fishing Hartley quite a bit and he said to look for schooling bass staging a few yards outside the big shad balls. I went up to sportsman factory outlet and bought a couple pks of the 5.8 Kietech swimbaits if we get my hotfoot installed early enough this morning I'm gonna give the bigger baits on the Arig a try.
Sac River Jim Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 my bright idea to throw the bigger baits on the Arig in Hartley yesterday sucked!!!!! Some days ya win some does ya lose!!!! All we found was a few dink crappie across the lake at Hawker on a brush pile in 20fow right at dark. Will try again Monday.
