Bird Watcher Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Bet a nickel the rep wants or wanted something and some MDC joint venture is in or got in his way. Maybe a high density hog farm? A theme park beside a stream of lake? You're close...A deer farm, or rather the ability to farm deer as livestock and not as captive wildlife is the catalyst for this political cash grab. bs1827 1

Yep. It's not so much as a cash grab and it doesn't have any upside, it's all revenge based. It's schoolyard tactics as usual for the politicians. It didn't go down the way they wanted it so they will ruin somebody in the process and they really don't care who that hurts. bs1827 1
Bird Watcher Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I disagree. Politicians love them some tax money. I think what they are most ticked off about is that the 1/8th sales tax has been off limits to them to waste how they see fit. Almost like they are beside themselves that someone would tell them there is tax money somewhere that they can't waste on their special interest. This latest vendetta over the deer farming is just the straw that broke the camels back.
Flysmallie Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Maybe there are multiple motives. But you are right, that deer farming thing was definitely the breaking point. And that's what caused the biggest push. A few big players didn't get their way and somebody is going to pay for it. To them the money means nothing. Again it's just speculation, I hear things from the inside, but who really knows if they are really in the know.......ya know. Either way one is just as childish as another. It's a game of fools.
