I was thinking of fishing KK to the lake this summer in 2 mile stretchs wading. it looks like it would be great reminds me of the fishing im used to atleast from the sat imaging. only thing that worries me is the abundance of houses along the river. Im sure its safe and never really take this into consideration. is this a no fish zone to outsiders?

Also this is the upper James i'm talking about right or does that refer to another location? Thanks in advance.

The problem is access for wading. You can float through there with no problems. It's a jungle in places and you have to pull a canoe over and through a lot of stuff. It's fun though.

Yea i was talking to a guy at school and he said it was to muddy to get through on foot. but all those lay downs and holes are calling my name. ill find a way in there as long as im not getting threats and having to worry about getting shot at. I considered buying a kayak for the summer but i might as well just buy a bass boat for what those things cost. Granted that dosnt help me get in there but fishing on foot has always produced the best results for me on small rivers like that. thanks for the reply.

Used yaks and canoes are less than two mid grade casting setups. You have no reason to not own a paddle craft.

Maybe im just being a wuss and afraid to stand up in the cheap ones lol. they just dont seem deep or wide enough for fishing. Also it was kind of a sticker shock thing when i looked up fishing kayak. Blew my mind to see a $1000-2500 kayak though had to literally laugh out loud. Ill be watching Craigs but demand must be high the prices on the used fishing yaks is still more then i can afford at this time. Or want to for that matter.

The Ascend boats are affordable, as are Perception Sport. Why do you need to stand in a yak or canoe? The Perception Pescador boats are the same hull as the older Wilderness Systems Tarpons.

Im sure i could get used to sitting while i fish. Iv just never really had a reason to sit. Those leanin post type seats iv often considered giving a try in the boat. Time to teach myself something new.

I never got why people have the need to stand in a kayak.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

I have a Malibu Mini-x that I might part with. It is wide and stable but not the best tracker. The best part is that it is extremely light compared to some of the other boats. PM me for some pictures if you are interested.
