bologna Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I've heard of only a couple females caught with no ripe eggs. I caught 6 keeper males this morning below Taylor within sight of the bridge was there only a short time. Waders seem like the best method now. I was using a 1/80 oz gray jig on a fly rod. Saw no fish caught from bank.
Members Schenk781 Posted March 22, 2015 Members Posted March 22, 2015 Just drifting with an indicator or stripping? I went to T-Rock, did well friday poorly today.. How far can you wade diwn from taylor now?
Members Will croskey Posted March 22, 2015 Members Posted March 22, 2015 I took my boy and wife to Orleans and my boy caught one and that was it for us but I seen several fish being caught they was hitting on different things white curly tail grub and chartreuse looked like a swimming minnow
bologna Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Letting it drift, small strips here and there no indicator. Cast up to the bank standing in the middle of the river up behind the timber in the slow water areas. You can wade several hundred yards below Taylor right now at least.
Members Colton Posted March 23, 2015 Members Posted March 23, 2015 Went to Orleans late evening, caught 6 only 2 keepers seen some caught but all small. I was wading.
Members moduck38834 Posted March 30, 2015 Members Posted March 30, 2015 Finally made it to Taylor yesterday. Didn't catch any below the bridge but went way up past the power lines and got into a few. Ended up leaving w 5 decent sized fish...4 males and 1 female. Still early, but it is definitely ready to get real good soon! Most fish were caught in the larger eddies near strong current. And all were caught on rooster tails...didn't have a single grub fish trythisonemv 1
