Members Schenk781 Posted March 27, 2015 Members Posted March 27, 2015 Anyone have any insight as to paddlefish moving up the river, towards blunk and beyond? If i took a guess id bet they are moving up with this high water..
vonreed Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I would bet they're half way or more to Springfield Dam.
Seth Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I'm sure some have moved up the river, but I doubt the biggest push has happened yet. Once the water hits 60 degrees in April, they will really start running and keep going until they run out of water and then stack up in the nearest holes. If the water is really low or really high then you can catch the snot out of the paddlefish in mid to late April. If it's one of those in between levels then it can be tough because they fish get stuck somewhere between McCords Bend and Springfield Dam. That's a long stretch of water to try and find them in, especially if the only way to get to them is with a canoe. Chris White 1

Members football jiggin Posted March 30, 2015 Members Posted March 30, 2015 Haven't made it into Christian county yet but are making it up river no doubt.
Members crappiekayaker Posted April 3, 2015 Members Posted April 3, 2015 At least once a week, I've been going below the dam at Springfield. All I have snagged is a few sticks. I figure im way to early but its always worth a try.
Seth Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I haven't heard much of anything coming from the James. Everybody that is reporting on my Facebook snagging page is fishing Truman or LoZ.
