I posted this in another forum but I want to make sure more people see it.

I can't stand the crowds at the normal white bass spots but I love white bass on the fly rod. I grew up in Winslow and I fish lake fort smith. Might not have the hybrids or walleye but for someone who likes slinging that rod it's hard to beat. Solitude, beauty, and of course fish. There is a parking spot on the upper end of the lake and if you cross the creek there is a very wad able section. We caught several this evening and another week it should be on like donkey kong. I caught my fish on a clouser. If anyone needs more info send me a pm. I don't mind giving the info because I'm too busy to fish. Someone should be enjoying it.

I've always white bass fished on UL rods, but I'm wanting to get started on a fly rod what are the main colors and patterns you use to catch white bass?

All you need are clousers. I like a white/grey or white/brown. I know combos with brighter colors work too. It's a fast, 3 strip, pause retrieve.

I use a 7 weight (for everything). And i fish Asp streamers tied small for whites (and all other fish now!). Sorry Amery, i must be the only person in the world that hates clousers but i loathe that fly.

Let the summer of Carp, begin.
