got to fish for a few hours yesterday afternoon. we put in at eagle rock and fished the mud coming into the creeks. results were 12 keepers with some really nice bass. nothing in the 5 lb. range though. did have a couple 4's, and three in the 3 lb. range. most of the rest where in the 16 inch range and all looked to be females, very pot bellied.

water depth, 3 to 7 feet. area, very bottom on the creek. water color, mud.

best lure was 3/8 jig with small trailer. 2nd best, 1/2 CrazyBlitz with small chunk type trailer.

we only caught 5 or 6 short bass.

working the jig today to get bites required to pretty much drag it very slowly along the bottom.

i see many that post about shying away from muddy water. mud can be your best friend. sounds like they are biting in the clearer water also from the posts.

sure wish it was not going to be so cold tonight because it is the full moon and the bite is on.

Outstanding.

champ, it is more from years of experience, and knowing when and where the perfect conditions arrive. those same bass will not be there today, but they will be very close to where they were yesterday. one may or may not be able to catch them on the same lures, but i would bet for those with enough patience, the jig would still get them, and they would be more in the 10 ft. range.

seems like that might just be right down donna's alley.
