I love the old I think 2004ish pro qualifier rods. Have 2 of them and they are awesome. I would prefer to spend a $100 or less just because I won't be doing it that much.

Mine was a '94 with a nice round 4600 on it. Broke it that same year poking a jig loose in the last half hour of a tmt. Replacement was just not as sweet.

The thing about the BPS flip rods is they are a little softer, letting you pitch a lighter bait. Some of them are pretty much 1/2os jigs and up only. The old Team Daiwa rods were that way too, the Denny Brauer rods.
