By the old boat ramp, I assume you are talking about the one by the boathouse?

Well, that works too. I was really referencing the north side directly across from Southwoods Access.

being without a boat of some sort makes it near impossible at Springfield lake, unless your bobber fishing for perch.

i suggest going down to Finley river, the 14 exit near old town. there's a paved walkway along the river where you can duck in to several spots. guarantee to get a few bass there.

otherwise, consider an inflatable for the lake. I've used this one for several years now: http://www.mcsports.com/challenger-ii-boat-set-0#.VTbdO_Au9Ko

The Springfield park dept. boathouse rents canoes and kayaks. Otherwise I'd go and wade nearby creeks for fish - you'll do better than bank fishing Springfield lake, for sure.

Robinhood...i would use my time wisely and check the stockton forum and take the extra 30-45 mins to make the drive up there. I work two job.go to school. And have a family and i primarly fish from the bank and there is never a time that i want to eat fish and i dont have any. Stockton is a great place for everything....fish,turkey,deer,mushrooms. Most all land around the banks of stockton is mdc and coe land at least 500yds. Check it out its a great place.
