Members DavidB Posted April 10, 2015 Members Posted April 10, 2015 We'll be at Table Rock the last week of April, first of May, and have always fished the Long Creek area, to Point 5 on the White. If we were to trailer to a different part of the lake for a day or two, what area would you recommend, and where would you launch?
dtrs5kprs Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Kimberling lets you easily fish from Pt 5 up to Baxter, or up the lower James. More, if you like running. I would put in at 13. Baxter puts you in the same range of Kimberling, the White up to Big Creek, and the lower James. Again, more if you like to run around. Baxter ramp is the place there. Lots to fish out of either of those, and lots of brown fish. If you want a real change of pace you could drag it to Viola on the Kings. Lots of fish, and fishes quite a bit differently at times. Wood and color are usually in play, but they do get pounded by the spinnerbait crowd.
fishingaddiction Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Agree with Dave. I am quite partial to the Hwy 13 area. Lots of good fishing within 3 to 5 miles of the KC bridge. Use the 13 ramp on the KC (north) side or Mill creek rec area if you are coming over via Hwy 86 to Hwy 13. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
