SB 337 is scheduled for a hearing on tomorrow, April 14 at 9:00 a.m.

This bill limits the Conservation Commission and the Department of Conservation from working with non-profit organizations.

The effects would be wide sweeping and devastating to Missouri's outdoors and outdoor heritage. It would affect the outstanding work MDC accomplishes with nonprofit organizations. Some of these include: Conservation Federation of Missouri, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Foundation, Quality Deer Management Association, and many more.

Attend the hearing tomorrow and speak out against the legislation. It is your right as a citizen to have your voice heard.

Date: Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Time: 9:00 a.m.

Room: Senate Lounge

Who is sponsoring this bill and what do they stand to gain by it? What is their motive?

I have a friend, a Jewish carpenter, whom you should get to know. If you do, your life will never be the same.

mind numbingly stupid. Partnerships like this one https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mill-Creek-Watershed-Coalition/475694925817958?fref=ts at Mill Creek that do things like habitat improvements without having to use state funds, but benefit the public, would be ruined. Talk about value, improve fishing for the public at a cost of zero dollars to the public. I thought those guys liked not having to pay for stuff with tax dollars? Our nonprofit on the 11 Point is working with the forest service on a project, but may partner with the conservation dept in the future if this law does not ruin that. Stupid!

This bill is sponsored by Munzlinger. This name should sound familiar by now. If there is an reason beyond trying to damage the MDC, the same as with other bills Munzlinger has proposed, I don't know what it is. I also suspect CFM is a target in this bill, because they have done a lot to combat other anti-conservation measures.

This is completely asinine. I wonder what Munzlinger's spin is on this and why they feel this bill will be beneficial? As stated above these groups are volunteers and are not costing the state 1 penny. You'd think that's what would make the bean counters happy but honestly i think the issue is these groups are just more opposition to guys like Munzlinger and he'd prefer if they were silenced and dissolved or prohibited from doing what they do.

This is completely asinine.

Precisely. If you're worried about MDC spending too much money, the last thing you want to do is take away the sort of cooperative programs which don't cost them anything. Friends for Munzlinger has more than $100,000 on hand, and he's taken more than $17K in "gifts" from special interests since 2004. The guy obviously has no problem with outside money funding legislative priorities, so long as the outside money is his.

Every time it seams I some bill come up lately this Guy is on it someplace. He obviously has a Beef with MDC why doesn't one of the organizations start a recall petition against him ?

It would seam to me that with the amount of people who love the outdoors in Mo it wouldn't be hard to remove a guy like this.
