They've always wanted to get their hooks into the MDC, and bills get brought up every year.

If you read the quote above and some of his other comments you'll probably agree -- he's an idgit.

Heck, even stream teams could be impacted. A boy scout troop (nonprofit) decides to form a stream team, are they going to be able to work with the MDC? Just another horrible bill which seems to be happening at a record pace this year.

It does seem like these are coming hot and fast this year. I mean, there is always some anti-MDC legislation out there...but it's constant right now. It's hard to keep track of everything even for someone who spends a lot of time keeping tabs on it.

The sheer volume is enough for there to be concern. Right now we have some measure of comfort in a likely veto, but that may not always be the case. When it's not, I fear what may happen to conservation in this state. In the meantime, we still have to worry about overrides, which anti-MDC folks have gotten dangerously close to in a few cases recently.

"It just appears to me that there's a conflict going on here to use taxpayer dollars to supplement a program to put private industry out of business," Munzlinger said. "That's the reason I filed the bill."

If that was how he really felt about the MDC, then wouldn't he do the same with the police department? Aren't they putting private security firms out of business?

What about the fire department? Why not use a private firm to battle our fires?

Isn't the Missouri highway department putting private construction firms out of business?

What about county health clinics? Aren't they damaging private business?

The list can go on and on.

Yeah, and my new company 'Nukes R Us' is facing unfair competition from the taxpayer-funded US Military. I mean, what ever happened to the Land of Opportunity?
