Well, kind of a tough day. Dad and I ended up with six keepers. Mostly males. The one female was full of eggs. Had the best luck with minnows after that a chartreuse and black bobby garland with a chartreuse road runners did well too. Caught several small males. Caught most of them off the wind blown points... Coves were really slow and pretty much non productive. But in a noob so take that for what's it worth... Wind was a bitch but I was glad to get out with old man. Hopefully I'll get out next week with my son... Good luck...

Good to hear you getting out with your pops and hopefully your son next week.

I'd give the back of coves another look. If you catch one, hit it over and over. We fished 1 spot the size of a truck bed this past Monday from 2-5pm. Fished shallow water with minnows and did well. We picked up a few goodns (13"+) for the first time this year. All males. I hope you get into them with your son!

Crappie/ Crappie/ and more Crappie,

All these nice sized Crappie.........13" Males !!??!! ....... what a great time to move the length up to 11" ..........actually 12 would be better. Write your conservation department guys. It is time to take advantage of this and take Stockton to the next level.

I have caught a few, but crappie under a certain length don't eat small fish like bigger crappie do. It is my understanding they feed on smaller plant and animal life in the water. That's why you never catch ones under 6 or 7 inches.
