jtram Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I have historically struggled bass fishing lakes post spawn through summer. I know bass generally go deeper, but how do you look for, fish for bass as the easy bite ends and they transition into summer patterns? I have been and likely always will be a river guy, but plan to make a real effort to become a solid stick year round on the lake. ANY info would be much appreciated. Thanks
Members alltelracer Posted May 4, 2015 Members Posted May 4, 2015 Save a little money and book a trip with Pete Wenners. He'll show you how to fish drop shot and how valuable your electonics can really be.
Biglerma Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I agree. I booked a trip with Bill Babler, showed me everything I needed to know and I had fished the lake my entire life. After that trip I actually started catching fish vs just fishing for them. Money well spent!
m&m Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I totally agree about the guide service. I booked Brian Snowden last April and while the fishing was good I picked his brain all day about the different seasons and locating fish. It helped me with my approach.
Donna G Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Has the easy bite started? Lol. Good advice, guys, and good for you, jtram, for seeking to expand your skills. jtram Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Ha the EASY bite is summer river smallies;) a few weeks away from that still. More like the only time of year I can consistently catch bass on the lakes!
