Tanderson15 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 A very good morning caught 4 walleye up to 20" but very skinny. They coughed up crawfish 1 to 11/2" long. All BB in 17-20' of water. Mid lake Lance34 and J-Doc 2
bferg Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Nice fish! Not to jack your report but I was able to get a couple hours on the water before work this AM...Trying to get on the top water striper bite but I can't really find it. Fished from 5-7 around PC. Caught 1 striper by the island - marked fish in 20' of water as well. Never did catch a top water fish. Caught this guy on a swim bait which I had been slow rolling but he hit it when I started burning it. Went to the back of PC for a bit before I put the boat on the trailer...little topwater action back there- but scattered at best. Never hooked up and only got hit once. But the sunrise was beautiful! At work by 8! That's good livin! Quillback 1
Blll Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Odd that with all the shad/shiners in the lake they are targeting crawdads which I think may be less nutritious hench the skinny bodies. Even the bluegills are in their zone now. Are they avoiding competing with the stripers?
1969Larson Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Great way to start the day! ... Although it can only go downhill from there!
