Bitethis Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I am going fishing Monday out of a canoe, was thinking of putting in at CC and going down the bank towards turnback. Fishing for crappie, whites, and black bass. I won't be mad at a walleye, especially since we will eat lunch when we have enough fish to do so. Anyone think of a better place to put in a canoe and optimize success? mike375 1
straw hat Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Probably your best bet. Be careful not to get run over by a bass boat. Good Luck!!
Sac River Jim Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 might consider putting in at 160 bridge on turnback above CC wont be as much boat traffic and the fishing has been pretty good last i heard a couple of days ago. Hunter91 1
slab slinger Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I second Jim on putting in up river or rarther up TB creek. If you can paddle fast and long enough i would troll a flicker shad for crappie, whites, and walleye. Good luck bud. Hope you slay em.
Members markw Posted May 8, 2015 Members Posted May 8, 2015 I took canoe put in last Sat at 160 paddled up Turnback ,going upstream was no problem fish were not biting but carp were all over the banks and water was muddy.
Bitethis Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Would going up river or toward lake yield better results, you think?
Walcrabass Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Bitethis, Hope you catch a ton of fish !! Canoe fishing is great !! Still do some of it myself. Be careful about your "Fish Lunch". Make sure you do not have fillets on the water. It could prove to be very costly. Wally

I am unaware of the regulations on this, and to be honest hadn't given a second thought until you did. Can you point me to the regulation on this, I would hate to be getting a ticket while scarffing down a crappie fillet at $50 a pop (unless it would cost more than that...ouch).
