brittsnbirds Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 What's the water like now with all the rain this week?? My DW is a little worried that we might get rained out. Told her the forecast didn't look any worse than what we have been dealing with this week up here in KC. Actually the forecast is more rain up here than down at Licking Thurs - Sun. Don't mind some rain every once in a while but a constant down pour won't work. And NoLuck your not going to convince the DW to go to BSSP. She's liking Montauk much better, especially when you can't get into CG1. Had the ability to get a site(s) but had to move 1 time.
Jeff Tief Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Water guage this morning at Montauk showed 233 cfs which would make it pretty full .We fished it last Wednesday at 140 cfs and it was real nice for sight fishing with the fly rod. I often call the hatchery office to get their "take" on the stream as to flow and clarity. They did have a lot of nice fish in the fly zone.
NoLuck Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Pat if you can't get s spot in CG 1 you can always go across the wooden bridge and over 64 to HVO. Nice place really.
jdmidwest Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Calling for chance of rain every day after Thurs till next week. I am heading to Spring River this weekend and will just tough it out. Big rain came in over weekend and all full in Se Mo. brittsnbirds 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Gavin Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Think you will be fine with intermittent rain. It's running 1.9 and falling at Akers now. Bought 6" over dead low. Great float level if it's running 1.5-5' foot is good but the NPS will close down floating when it gets to 4 or so at Akers. Your ATT 4G will work in the CG. Check your weather app and your River data app if you see lots of standing water in the CG. More rain coming, pack your possibles in good order in case you need a quick get away. That creek comes up quickly sometimes. Falls fast too.

Pat, they are calling for less a chance this weekend than last weekend. It didn't rain all day either day last weekend and it was pretty nice. Plus with the advanced notice of rain it tends to lighten the crowds to the far weather folks. brittsnbirds 1

Sweat hopefully that will hold true for Licking MO!!
NoLuck Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Sweat hopefully that will hold true for Licking MO!! Just so you know. My usual bug at Bennett usually works good at Montuak too.
