wuteversbitin424 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Could have been shedding which would explain the 2 tone color and the bands.
nxs Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Could have been, will just have to say it was different and something new to see.
Members wizzit Posted May 26, 2015 Members Posted May 26, 2015 Regarding the snake: I just saw one like you described near our back door the other day. I'm also trying to find out what it is.
MOPanfisher Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Beautiful coachwhip. They tend to be a little high strung, meaning they will bite when you mess with them but they are non-venomous, and pretty darn fast when they want to be. wizzit 1
Aggressor1988long Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I knew it was a choach whip my brother in law took care of one at the nature center the are very aggressive if approached
Terrierman Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 His was 12 feet long Now that's a for real snake. Love those black snakes, relocated a couple from my chicken house. Refuse to kill one.
Members wizzit Posted May 27, 2015 Members Posted May 27, 2015 I knew it was a coach whip my brother in law took care of one at the nature center the are very aggressive if approached The one in the picture must have been asleep. I kept getting closer and closer to him taking pictures, the last one being about 2' away, and he never moved. Only after I backed off several feet and was making noise cleaning off my shoes with our boot scraper did it leave.
nxs Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 well that sure looks like it except for the 3 bands where it starts to change colors. So I'm good with it. Thanks for the pic!
