Water is extremely fast and rough. You will lose a lot of lures and go home skunked. Nobody catching anything. This cold front shut down the bite.

Started fishing on the west side right up next to the fence, current was rolling pretty good. All you had to do was cast down the bank towards the flat spot and bring the bait back slowly jigging it every once in awhile and you would get hit. (I assume this would have worked down the entire bank) We were throwing swimming minnows on 1/8 ounce heads, color didn't matter, just needed that curly tail action. Two of us ended with our limit of white bass plus several more. After I got my limit I decided to try out a flicker shad and see if maybe a hybrid or two would cooperate. No luck on the hybrids but caught lots more whites. About 8 o'clock or so we decided to move to the east side and see if the crappie were biting. A ton of them being caught off the handicapped dock and from the bank right around it. Had to go through several dinks to catch a keeper but it was still a blast. We ended up with our limit of whites and 13 keeper crappie. Probably could have slowly reached our limit of crappie but my buddy had to make a meeting in Springfield by 1. Absolutely love this place when they are letting water out!

I saw several boats fishing the weir as we were going across the dam on our way home. I've never fished that side of the dam but I've always wanted to when the whites and hybrids are running.
