Members DaveMac Posted May 21, 2015 Members Posted May 21, 2015 Drove by Ponca today. High and muddy. Doesn't look good for at least the next 4 or 5 days.
Members Chef of the Sea Posted May 22, 2015 Members Posted May 22, 2015 On Wednesday the water was below the Ponca low water bridge, and lost valley was only renting rafts. Went down to steel creek, and of you're familiar with that area, there were NO Rapids at the launch by the horse park. I've never seen that. More rain since then....I'd be very hesitant to get on that water right now. A good alternative, for what it's worth is the tailwaters below beaver dam. A nice float with pretty scenery and great trout, and even with the generators running it's an easy float. Never made it past the brodge to houseman, but word is the whites and eyes are in there now. Just a suggestion. Be safe wherever you go. Water beats man everytime Amery 1
Members Jordan Craig Posted May 25, 2015 Author Members Posted May 25, 2015 Thanks for the tip on the beaver tailwater. Will definitely try that sometime never been. We ended up camping at the north fork of the white upstream, caught more bass than I could count, hoping to get into some goggleye to eat, but nothing but little goggleye. We're going to save the buffalo for later. Ham 1
Guest Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I'm going to the buffalo next weekend. I hope the rain stops soon.
