PigSooner Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Was going stir crazy with all this rain so thought I would get out of the house and check out the river. Marble- water was stained- but not bad. Marshall Ford- I guess the low water bridge is private? There was a gate on the road that I believe goes to the river. Can you park at the pull off before the bridge? I saw a truck there but I also saw no parking signs. Trigger Gap Rockhouse & Rockhouse creek- couldn't cross over Rockhouse creek had to go around because of the flow over the road. PigSooner Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 And BTW , when these pictures were taken the Berrville gage would have been at ~6. It is now 13 and still rising. Squirrel Fishin' 1
Members bagofdonuts Posted May 27, 2015 Members Posted May 27, 2015 Best smallmouth day I ever had was on a dropping and clearing Kings after a July thunderstorm. I can still hear the sound of those smallmouth attacking a buzzbait.
Dan the fisherman Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Ok thanks for the report. Looks a bit too high for my liking. Maybe a late June trp will be in store for me.

hoglaw Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I think another guy is running an operation on the property Ernie used to lease at trigger gap. I heard Ernie lost the lease somehow, but that he's still making a go of it across the river. Kings River Adventure is the name of his deal, and google says the number is (479) 253-2346. I think there's another place or two in Berryville if you want to float farther down on the river, and another one by Grandview.
Amery Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Oh man it looked good today, these gotta be the best couple weeks all year. Take your vacation time!!!!!
Members Slowtime Posted June 5, 2015 Members Posted June 5, 2015 Floated / fished / camped last two days on the Kings. Marble to Marshall Ford. First time ever on that stretch of the Kings. Water seemed about right, everything looks fishy on this stretch. Fished semi-hard and caught several both days. No giants , but some good quality smallmouth. Everything seemed to be working well - craws, jigs, spinnerbaits, flukes. No one bait stood out over the others. PigSooner 1
