5bites Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Wolf creek won't be usable. Terra Miranda is a good high water ramp. Honey creek works too but not by yourself.
Members oldasdirt Posted July 8, 2015 Author Members Posted July 8, 2015 Great well that's the only ramp I've ever used was afraid of that. I'm stay at Indego so I'll have to look it up.
ollie Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Yep, lots of accesses on Grand if you know where they are! Birdwatcher is right, don't let that stop you. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Bird Watcher Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 What are you wanting to fish for? What part of the lake do you want to access? What type of boat and tow vehicle do you have?(fiberglass/metal bass boat, 4WD truck?)
Members oldasdirt Posted July 8, 2015 Author Members Posted July 8, 2015 I've got a fiberglass would like to dock it over night 4 wheel rig. Fish the big bass deal.
Bird Watcher Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I see. Personally, I wouldn't dock anything overnight unless I was sleeping on it. NE OK is a pretty economically depressed area. There's a lot of people that would steal from you if they thought they could get 20$ for the item. I especially wouldn't leave it and drive back to Seneca, but that's up to you. There are a ton of resorts around Grove that have little fishing cabins and come with a boat slip if you change your mind on lodging locations. It looks like that tournament is in two weeks. You should be fine at about any ramp by then. They can drop Grand quickly as long as Hudson, Kerr and the Arkansas river have capacity which they do right now. I can't help you on the bass bite, I don't black bass fish anymore, but if they pull this lake hard for two weeks the fish will pull out the points.
Members oldasdirt Posted July 8, 2015 Author Members Posted July 8, 2015 Thanks a ton for the help it's greatly appreciated I know what you mean about things coming up missing. I may have to just do the load and unload and keep my rig with me for safety sake.
Members Ferguson Bills Posted July 11, 2015 Members Posted July 11, 2015 How high is the water right now? Is it worth doing any bank fishing?
Bird Watcher Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 It's at 751 this morning. It jumped pretty high. They are pulling the lake hard. 70000 cfs out the dam and 50000 cfs inflow. It could be some really good catfishing if you can find a bank with the current coming past.
Members Ferguson Bills Posted July 11, 2015 Members Posted July 11, 2015 How do you think catfish point and and point just west of it will be?
