Members gwh Posted May 29, 2015 Members Posted May 29, 2015 May be tough fishing this weekend but amount of rain we have had and will get in next 18 hours should help the stream. Stream is still fairly clear but up 8-10". Fishing has been good. Need a good flush to get rid of some moss.
Members Corky Posted May 30, 2015 Members Posted May 30, 2015 It won't flush the weeds out, they have to be cut!
laker67 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I am not sure that a flood could wash out that sea of moss they have let take over. It is a sad sight when the only gravel bottom to be seen, is from the shufflers.
Members Xraydude Posted June 1, 2015 Members Posted June 1, 2015 Has there been a stated change in stream management at Bennett? I just got back Friday from fishing a few days with my sons, and there are few deep holes anymore. Zone 2 from the hatchery retun to the bridge is a solid weed bed. I remember as a teenager fishing jigs through that area in deeper water. A few guys would fish kapoks on the bottom. Not possible anymore. Is it let a stream be a stream management? I looked at one of the fish drop sites, where they have dropped a nice pile of white rocks that are washing into the stream. I guess no one cares anymore, just throw the fish in? Rant over. laker67 1
oneshot Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Ok I don't fish the Park but have noticed more weeds in the river than normal last couple years. I blame it more on low water level mostly and maybe milder Winters. oneshot
NoLuck Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Too many septic tank systems leaching into the ground water.
