Al Agnew Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I had one big one hit the twin spin and take me right into a rootwad and get off. Had two more, not quite as big but respectable fish, 17-18 inchers, whiff at the twin spin right at the end of the float. Nothing of any size even tried to hit topwater.
Eric82 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Huh... i guess i just lucked out on Saturday... i didnt catch as many as other times but after changing from yellow to white small popper bugs on the fly rod and crayfish patterns to olive bunny leeches on the other fly rod i saw pretty good action... nothing of size but fun to catch. my wife started with a chart roostertail and when she changed to a brown trout colored rooster it was on for her. sorry to hear about it being tough... the summer is young though... im going to the Big Piney in the beginning of July for the first time. Hopefully i'll do ok there. i'm a little conflicted on where to float though. I kinda want to float the special management section but i hear it gets pretty crowded... however im used to that crowd having been one myself in the past so maybe it wont be so bad. LOL
