MOPanfisher Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Looks like we are cleared to begin increasing outflow today, up to 2000 CFS. Unsure with the long range forecast for heavy rains in Kansas and Northern MO how long we will be able to maintain the releases. While the rain likely won't directly affect us it will indirectly affect our ability to release by increasing the flow into the Osage and Missouri Rivers. As always we will have to wait and see. Members Mudshack Posted June 10, 2015 Members Posted June 10, 2015 Thanks MOPanfisher. So if this rate continues through the weekend what do you think the water levels well be this weekend?
MOPanfisher Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 I would guess that at this rate we would be down about a foot by Friday night, maybe slightly more.
Members Mudshack Posted June 10, 2015 Members Posted June 10, 2015 ok. So not much difference. Is there still debris and logs floating around? We are heading down this weekend and are debating if we leave the tube home so the kids are not tempted to tube and get impailed by a stick.
MOPanfisher Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 It's not bad except for the upper ends. Once the lake starts to drop the logs will ground out wherever the wind has pushed them. It's up to you on the tube a little common sense on where you pull them will go a long way. But there is always something floating around it seems like.
Members pomm muskie Posted June 11, 2015 Members Posted June 11, 2015 Thank you for keeping us up to date....
MOPanfisher Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Had a report today of quite a bit of debris floating in the lake on the Pomme side from near Wheatland Landing up river. South wind and releases will likely push it further down. Be aware.
Members Mudshack Posted June 11, 2015 Members Posted June 11, 2015 Thanks MOPanfisher. That is where we will be putting in at. Running around at night we will have to take it easy.
Gumboot Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Wow. The lake jumped 2 feet in last 24 hours? Must have gotten a bunch of rain.
MOPanfisher Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Oh we did. The Pomme River got up to around 10K CFS last night, but the Lindley Creek exploded to about 24K, rains hit right, so we are gonna pop up even with our outflow. We will definitely lose a few campsites but will have to wait and see what the Tropical Storm does to us. Hopefully we don't get another hit like last night or even worse. zarraspook 1
