Members Kdub Posted June 23, 2015 Members Posted June 23, 2015 I'm hoping to come down in middle of July and run some jugs. Have been looking at cabins in the Isabella area. Is there any good places in that area or is there a better place? I haven't been able to find any posts on here about catfish. Is there any in the lake?

Fish24/7 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 might want to be looking at places to stay that still have a place to park and launch a boat nearby. with the lake being almost 30' high it will be even higher come mid July if this keeps up. yep, there's plenty of cats in Bull
Members Kdub Posted June 24, 2015 Author Members Posted June 24, 2015 Thanks guys. I've been following all the reports of high water and talked to a couple of resorts and not sure it's going to be the best time to come down. It bums me out. Never been on BS's and was really looking forward to it. I'm going to watch and see what the water level does. If it goes down enough to get some boat ramps open then I'll try and get a cabin.
Members Jtram201 Posted June 26, 2015 Members Posted June 26, 2015 Heck we are at Peel now and have been for about 5 days. I had to leave the boat at home due to neck surgery on June 2nd. Boats are being launched from the road that leads to the marina parking lot. Hasn't been much boat traffic this week and it appears the lake is coming up close to a foot every 24 hours. We were told mid week that it should only come up another 5' or so. Hope that helps anyone who was interested. My buddies are in the back of the creeks and fields trying to rid the lake of game fish killers every night. They are bowfishing smacking carp and gar

Fish24/7 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 carp probably eat the gamefish eggs, gar eat whatever they can catch i never knew catfish love gar eggs until this year when i watched 3 cats munching the eggs as soon as the gar dropped them these pics were taken inside an old covered dock Ham 1
navery Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Those are some great pics! I guess I thought all predatory fish eat anything even their own species at times.
Members Walleye Jenkins Posted July 4, 2015 Members Posted July 4, 2015 From my experience most of the resort owners do not give accurate fishing advice. Two of the resorts that I use to stay at the owners didn't even fish. What I can tell you I've been to Bull Shoals for the last 10 years and some of my best days were with high water. When the water comes up many fish hang out inside of the buck brush. You will get snags if not careful. Unless the water is way murky you should be fine. Its a misconception down there about high water. I've caught some nice flatheads trolling for walleye along the buck brush.
