Jmontgo1246 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Going to spend a couple days on Stockton this Friday and Saturday. Like to fish around ruark bluff but will go up to orleans trail too. Looking for suggestions on best place to camp that has electricity and close to a ramp. Thx!
Members Shanman Posted June 24, 2015 Members Posted June 24, 2015 Mutton Creek Marina has electric and water sites and ramp is close to camp sites
Aggressor1988long Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 So does ruark bluff camping grounds east and west, good this time of year for crappie in sons creek.
Ketchup Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Why not stay at Ruark? The west side "ramp side" is the friendly side, while east side "swim beach" is more party side. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
slab slinger Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I second Aggressor and Ketchup. Roark CG east and west both have electricity and boat ramps. Good location on lake also.Deeper brush piles are holding good numbers or crappie and bass right now and the occasional bonus walleye. Jigs or minnows for crappie and big worms or heavy Football jig for the LM. Good luck and have fun.
Jmontgo1246 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Thanks guys...fish out of ruark a bunch....west ramp...just have never camped there. Wasnt sure how busy the campgrounds were amd how many electric sites there was. Will mostly be bass fishing...trying to figure out the deep/brushpile bite.
LoweSTX175 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I would recommend calling RB to make sure they have a site. Last week the only available site that we could find to camp was at Cedar Ridge CG. RB, Mutton and Hawker were all filled up. Also it seemed like RB last weekend turned into LOZ with all the party boats turning the water. I pretty much got skunked at RB last Saturday evening. The party boats seemed to want to hug the shoreline and be right next to the brush piles blaring loud music.
Members huck1974 Posted June 26, 2015 Members Posted June 26, 2015 I'm staying at Mutton tomorrow and Saturday. I keep my boat there. Ruark is probably better camping though, although the covenience factor is nice at Mutton. Stayed at site 11 during crappie spawn for 5 days a ruark and was excellent.
