Members wcbrent-2012 Posted June 30, 2015 Members Posted June 30, 2015 Anyone on here have any motor repair shops that they would recommend? I've got a Mercury 200 EFI with a new powerhead that's having problems getting up on plane. Thanks.
zarraspook Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I don't know where you are located but, there is Merc certified mechanic that works out of his home shop but, he located between Springfield and Willard MO........ I can find his number if you want ??? "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Members MSeery Posted June 30, 2015 Members Posted June 30, 2015 I highly recommend Fair Grove Marine....Josh Butler.759-7903. crappie jerk 1
fishbait3 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 look up fishwrench on here, he is out of lake of the OZarks Area
fishinwrench Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I'd say to return it to whoever installed the new powerhead. Bolting everything to a fresh powerhead without determining what caused the initial failure is just begging for a repeat powerhead failure. Aggressor1988long and zarraspook 2
buddygr53 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I know its probably out of your area but i use U S BOATWORKS IN KANSAS CITY KANSAS.

Members mo_outdoors1 Posted July 1, 2015 Members Posted July 1, 2015 What year is motor?? If not plaining out on water but starts and fast idle revs Engine fine and prop has not been changed then most likely cylinder or cylinders are down on compression!!! Get to reliable shop/mechanic and have it looked into.... My outboard was 1987 mercury Blackmax 200hp with carbs Only and not efi so could be something totally different.. Hope this helps and good luck. What are some places near your area I know a lot of good marine mechanics maybe guide you in right direction and won't break your wallet!!!!
