bferg Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm heading out to Rocky Branch area tomorrow morning for a bit. Anyone been out there is the last few days?
J-Doc Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Fishing wise, no. You will definitely need the following however: - Signal flares - extra life jackets - and a 50cal mounted on the bow to combat offending boaters who are about to sink you by running into your vessel (not really) This time of year last year, was actually pretty decent early. With high water and SEVERE boat traffic this year, you'd better get there well before daylight and capitalize on the early topwater bite. Then look for them on main lake areas. bferg Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Yeah, plan is to be on the water by 5:30 and off by 10. Should avoid the worst of it.
Sore Thumbs Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 There were schools of small kentuckies around point 6 couple weeks ago. Try that.

bferg Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Ended up going to Monte Ne as I had to be home earlier than planned. Nothing much to report- caught some fish close to docks- including a nice keeper on a Ned rig. Did find a few crappie suspended at about 15 feet in 30 fow....they seemed eager to bite... Lance34 1

Dan the fisherman Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Nice report. How was the boat traffic at that end?
bferg Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 Well we were only on the water from 5:30 to 8:15. Saw two other boats... (Keep in mind this was Thursday)- most people were at work. This time of year get out early (or late), get a little bit away from the major marina (especially PC) and you can have an enjoyable time.
