2sheds Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Which section of the river is likely to be best for a late July day-float aimed for smallmouth ? What kind of flies should I tie ?
Brian Sloss Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 This year, anywhere above Greer. Maybe even Thomasville with as wet as we have been, but certainly Cane to Greer. Lots of Streamers, crawdads, and marabou jigs. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Gavin Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Cane to Greer is a fun float. Did pretty well on flukes and Hula grubs last time down in mid-summer. Cottonmouths seem to be abundant there. Saw 5-6 and almost stepped on one. Look were you put your feet! Plenty of banded water snakes too.
