mjk86 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 It would work better with a smaller hook. I agree with this on just about every soft plastic lure. The less hook wire through the bait will increase the action of almost any soft plastic. For crappie I use a 2 inch swimbait with a #8 hook, and for bass I use a 4 or 5 inch swimbait with a 1/0 hook. I find that texas rigging really inhibits the action because the bait is locked into position. For worm fishing I prefer a wacky rig because so little of the hook is in the worm.
dnj21 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Reminds me of the Gapen Ugly Bug Wow, do they even make those anymore? My Dad's favorite Northern Pike lure 30+ years ago in Michigan....
Norm M Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 looks like they do http://www.gapen.com/Gapen_Ugly_Bug_p/uglybug.htm what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends
