shockley32 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Now much going on for the board. Suppose 20+ feet of water over normal pool will do that. I myself haven't been much lately, too much work - need to get back to the serious things in life, like catching crappie! Is there a projection for when the lake will be normal pool again? MOPanfisher Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Gonna be a while. Even rolling 3500 cfs releases for now. Best projection is average 6 inches day (not there yet)so best guess 40 days, with no rain. Give or take some.
oneshot Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Truth I'm waiting for it to be down for awhile, weather cool some, then give it a try. Thing is I hope it is before Deer Season. oneshot
shockley32 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Hoping the weather stabilizes and the lake is a constant - same draw of water every day. When conditions are the same for 3 days in the row the fish settle in and start to bite. It seems that things have just been up and down and very inconsistent for a number of weeks. Oh well, better not curse the rain and wet conditions for we might be in a drought tomorrow! Although I'm getting tired of mowing my lawn twice a week, and still not staying on top of it! MOPanfisher Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Unless we get some sort of rain event large enough to shut down outflow, I expect to keep it rolling. We will get cut back to 2800 CFS at some point, but will roll with that for quite a while. Some day I will get to hit the lake again. (October). My dad used to say you are never more than 2 weeks from a drought in Missouri (might be three right now).

From what I understand right now we are about average on rain fall but we had a dry Winter and last Summer was dry. Was really good for Camping and floating on the Niangua but not really what the river needed. oneshot
