jtram Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Looking like I unknowingly volunteered to do a party float this Saturday. I dont believe I have ever done the river over 1000 cfs before. How does it float at 1500? Im assuming fast, clear and makes for a short day of ?fun?
ollie Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Yes, the water will be moving a little faster. Maybe I will see you down there. I am floating with my son and some of his friends as well. We are going out of Hog Heaven so they will either take us up to Big Sugar and we will float back or we are going to put in at their place and take out at Mt. Shira. Either way the water will be up and running faster. I like the level around 900cfs and lower to really do some fishing. I will still take a pole though and try to get in some fishing! jtram Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 I believe we are doing the shady float, worst case scenario the scenery should be good. Ill keep an eye out for you.
ollie Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I will be in a Disco 119 with a big floppy hat! The rest of the crew will be in sit in yaks out of Hog Heaven. ollie Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Jtram, I wouldn't have been able to find you out there yesterday! Sooooooo many people. Good thing I knew what I was in for when I got there. I didn't fish much at all and the ones I did catch were dinks. Water was great for floating, but still a little high for my taste when it comes to fishing it. Don't think there will be any fixing this one. lol "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
jtram Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Ha, ya it was a regular zoo. water was perfect for a chillaxing beer float though. Saw some sights very similar to that, mind blowing how bad some are in canoes. I watched for your 119, but as you said there was no way
